The first time I ever went to conference, I was amazed at what I could learn in such a short amount of time. One such conference is coming up at the end of this month: 360Flex Atlanta. At the end of this month (February 25-27th), many of the best Flex developers are descending on Atlanta to present information about the leading edge of Flex (and AIR) applications. Speakers include: Ben Forta, Jesse Warden, Christophe Coenraets, Doug McCune, Juan Sanchez, and a few members of the Flex team. I am speaking on Cairngorm for AIR Applications. You can also check out the entire speaker and session list (PDF) if you are interested.

One of the recent pieces of news regarding 360Flex Atlanta is that Digital Primates will be offering an all day class (on Sunday - directly before the conference) on the basics of Flex, and this class will be free. This is great news for those of you just learning Flex. You can pay the cost of the conference and get an entire day of basic Flex training for free. This also allows people that are new to Flex to go to the training and attend the conference (and not feel totally lost).

The entire event will only cost you $480 (USD). I honestly believe that the knowledge that you will gain at this conference will more than pay for the conference in shorter development times and a higher quality end product. Here is an excerpt from the conference site:

This 3-day conference is the place to learn about Flex and AIR from Adobe and community speakers. Sunday before the conference we'll be offering an all day Flex 101 session, included in the price of registration. That's right, a pre-conference all day training session on Flex. 360|Flex is the premiere Flex and AIR conference. We were the first Flex conference and we're still growing and getting better. Don't miss out, only $480 for an individual or $1500 for a 4-person team. More details can be found at http://360flex.com.

In addition to 360Flex, there are many great conferences that cover Flex and AIR topics. Here are a few of them:

  • 360Flex Europe: April 7-9, 2008 in Milan Italy
  • WebManiacs 2008: May 19-23, 2008 in Washington, DC
  • CFUnited: June 18-21, 2008 in Washington, DC
  • Adobe MAX 2008: November 16-19, 2008 in San Francisco, CA

If you know of another conference that I did not list, or if you have a great story of how a conference greatly helped you, leave a comment.

$480 would be too much as far my point of view but on the other hand got the relief hearing that the knowledge gained at this conference will more than pay for the conference in shorter development times and a higher quality end product.

I can't afford that sum of money and get registered for the main conference but I certainly don't wanna miss the pre-conference session that going to take place before the day of final conference for whole day long.Hope to learn some good and helpful stuffs from there.

It's certainly a great opportunity for the newbies to experience and participate in such type of conference which they wouldn't even dream of so often where top class and famous Flex developers like Ben Forta, Jesse Warden, and Christophe Coenraets would be acting as major speakers and provide us all important ideas and necessary knowledge about the Flex application. Thanks for sharing this great information with us.Anyone know when such type of conference will take place this year, or it has gone?
