According to ComputerWorld Adobe AIR is going 1.0 next month with some nice big customers validating the technology to boot!

Adobe Systems Inc. is expected to release its Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) next month, ending the wait of organizations such as Nasdaq Stock Market Inc. and American Cancer Society Inc.

Very exciting news, especially for anyone developing in AIR! The 1.0 release of the product is always an exciting and tense time, so having a huge customer like Nasdaq betting on it day one is a huge win for the platform. I've been involved in a couple AIR projects since last summer working with the betas and let me tell you it will be really nice to have a stable target for a while (and runtimes that don't expire, but that's my fault for being a bit too bleeding edge;-) ). Can't wait to see all the exciting new apps that will be released in the mainstream now that AIR is live, I know at least a few people working on neat tools with AIR that have just been waiting for the 1.0 stamp of approval. Prudent.

If you're itching to check out some AIR apps right now you can visit Adobe's AIR Marketplace. There's currently only 36 listed but it will be interesting to see how this grows after the release. Are you working on a cool AIR app? If so let me know:)

Just for the record Adobe hasn't announced an official release date for AIR, but Ryan Stewart says "*cough* it's very close."
