InsideRIA's very own Andre Charland will be at Web Directions North this week in Vancouver, Canada, presenting on Adobe AIR in a split session with Walter Smith who will touch on Microsoft Silverlight.

If you haven't been exposed to either platform yet then this will be a great opportunity to get an introduction to both.

Andre will be providing an overview of AIR including how to build a simple application using either Flex or HTML. He'll also explore some of development tools available that can make AIR development easier and faster.

Walter will give a similar overview of Silverlight, discussing the strengths and weaknesses of the platform and show off some examples.

Web Directions North (WDN) is in its second year having spun off from the originally Australian event. WDN is targeted to people whose day-to-day job is building web sites and web applications and are looking to stay up to date with the latest in the industry.
