There's a brand new web conference on the circuit called Singularity. The conference looks like to have great line up of web luminaries already including Derek Featherstone, Molly Holzschlag, Joshua Hirsch and many more. There's a twist to this conference though in that it's online. Based on the speaker line up I'd say this is going to be a great event for RIA developers, and the conference itself sounds like it's going to be a pretty rich web app:
To give attendees the chance to view all sessions conveniently, the sessions will be recorded and made available to attendees for a period of six months. The recordings will then be released under a Creative Commons license to form a time capsule or snapshot of Web 08 as seen through the eyes of our excellent roster of speakers. The networking tools within the conference will utilize and build upon existing networks so you can expand your existing network prior to, during, and after the conference.
They promise to share their experience in building the conference system which I hope to cover here. It's three days long starting Oct 24th 2008. I met Aral Balkan, the conference organizer, briefly at last year's MAX in Chicago and he's well tapped into the Flash and web dev world so I expect this to be a really neat event.
They're accepting speaker submissions so break out your thinking cap and send an email to speak@singularity08.com, I'm going to;-) Hope to see you online.

Poll: ECMAScript Reaction
The ECMA organization recently decided to stop work on ECMAScript 4 and begin a new version, tentatively described as ES "Harmony." How would you like to see this affect the evolution of ActionScript?

Hi all
One name you NEED to know: Jeremy Keith. He wrote "DOM Scripting: Web Design with JavaScript and the Document Object Model " and "Bulletproof AJAX". I heard him at @Media a few years back, he knows his stuff but presents it in a digestable format. oto kiralama
