I know it's been more than a week since Web Directions North 08 but the 2 days of skiing and partying in Whistler that were included in the conference took a while to recover from;-) The event was great with an amazing cross section of speakers from a wide range of fields related to RIA. From Jared Spool's talk on usability to Douglas Crockford famous Ajax security talk.

My favorite talk which I've already mentioned was on data visualization by Eric Rodenbeck, but I forgot to mention the flash visualization of cab traffic in San Francisco, called CabSpotting. Eric made an interesting point about data visualization being part "spectacle" to get people interested and excited then part "analysis" to actually convey the meaning behind the data. Party in the front, business in the back, I like it.

Jonathan Snook and I were also there so I decided I'd post our slide decks here.

Also here's Jonathan Snook's excellent overview of working with Ajax frameworks:

Here's my slide deck on the from Crash Course in AIR talk:

Some other great talks related to RIA that have posted slides were "How & Why: UI Case Studies" by Daniel Burka of Digg and Pownce and Innovation With Mental Models by Indi Young.

Congrats, you've killed SlideShare :-)
Pages after 25 in the 'how and why' just show the spinner endlessly, and the signup captcha for downloading it it broken.

Woo ! Go Web 2.0 :-)

At least I didn't kill all of Web 2.0! Seems to be working fine for me now:)
