This Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (September 4th - 6th) I'll be speaking at the Rich Web Experience EAST conference in Virginia. This conference is organized by Jay Zimmerman who also runs and organizes the No Fluff, Just Stuff symposium tour. If The Rich Web Experience is half as good as the No Fluff, Just Stuff (NFJS) symposiums than its going to be great!

Like the NFJS symposium tour, The Rich Web Experience is attracting great speakers from all over including: Douglas Crockford of Yahoo! (invented JSON), Christian Schalk of Google (helped found Open Ajax Alliance), Mark Meeker UI Architect at Orbitz, and a cadre of other great speakers (e.g. Neil Ford, Nathaniel Schutta, Scott Davis). The main difference between this conference and the NFJS symposiums is that the The Rich Web Experience will focus on web technologies such as Ajax and RIA rather than programming in general.

What I love about the conferences organized by Jay Zimmerman is that they occur over the course of the weekend. Sound bizarre? Consider this: Everyone that attends these symposiums is dead serious about learning. After all, they are giving up their weekend! It makes for a great audiance of self motivated learners.

If you get the chance, do yourself a favor and attend the The Rich Web Experience in either Virginia this week or San Jose next week.
