After roughly 100 votes the poll with the question "Adobe and Zend announced their collaboration last week. How will this collaboration affect the applications you are working on?" resulted in a nearly 3 way split a slight edge going to users saying that it will be more likely that they will strrt using PHP more for a back end to Flex applications.

Here are the breakdowns:

30% saying "More likely that I will use Flex as a front end to my PHP applications"

30% saying "No change, I will continue to use (Java, CF, .NET, etc.) as the back end to my Flex development"

40% saying "More likely that I will start using PHP as the back end of my Flex applications"

As soon as I saw that Adobe had done this, I thought to my self of course this is going to encourage more people to build with PHP backends. Also Adobe has most probably got into bed with the PHP Zend framework as PHP 6 is coming along strong, and the capabilities of this language is really going rev up the RIA industry.

It is amazing to see that as soon as Adobe supports a company or framework such as the Zend you know there is going to be followers to keep with the norm.
