Microsoft just announced that the final release of Silverlight 2 will be made available tomorrow, October 14th. Microsoft states:

Silverlight 2 will be available for download on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight. Customers already using a previous version of Silverlight will be automatically upgraded to Silverlight 2.

If your application is still targeting Silverlight 2 Beta 2, you will need to update it for the Silverlight 2 final release. Microsoft compiled a list of breaking changes between Silverlight 2 RC0 and Silverlight 2 Beta 2. You can use this as a guide to update your information.

"Microsoft Silverlight may not be supported on your computer's hardware or operating system. "
..big pause...
..nothing happens...

Oh well, still not cross platform then.
