You may have noticed that from time to time we post excerpts of O'Reilly Adobe Developer Library titles on InsideRIA. We've reached an agreement with Adobe to provide approximately 20% of each ADL title for Adobe's Community Help program. The material, as well as some other excerpts we've published, is organized on a single page, found here

And now that we've posted these excerpts, we figured "why not make it readily available to anyone using InsideRIA as well?"

We'll be adding excerpts from ADL titles on an ongoing basis; if you're using Adobe technologies, that's the good news (or one would hope)...

But what about book excerpts from other publishers? Due to legal issues, it's a rather convoluted process to take another publisher's intellectual property and post on an O'Reilly site, so it's not likely that we will be doing much of that. Though, if you are the author of an RIA book, you may be able to work with your publisher to get permission to post an excerpt.

And what about excerpts from other O'Reilly books? Because other O'Reilly books aren't part of Adobe Developer Library (and therefore aren't part of Adobe Community Help), there are no groups of excerpted chapters from, for example, our Ajax or Rails books. We're looking into what it would take to create access to excerpts of other titles, though. Meantime, we hope you find this material of help, thanks.
