FEATURED: Flex SDK 3.3 Released
Technologies: Flex, AIRAdobe released an update to the Flex SDK this week. This change brings the Flex SDK to 3.3 - and it includes an update to the SDK, the data visualization components, as well as Flex Builder itself (which includes support for the latest version of Flash Player 10 and AIR 1.5.1). This released fixes a number of bugs, and it is available to download today.

ILOG Releases next Iteration of Visualization Components
Technologies: Flex, AIRILOG released version 2 of their advanced data visualization components for Flex. This component set includes heatmaps, 3D charts, Gantt charts, OLAP and Pivot charts and much more. The new release also includes interactive demos with which the developer can view the source.

jQuery UI 1.7 Released
Technologies: AjaxThe jQuery UI framework received a lot of attention for its latest release, 1.7. This version gets its own site, and a lot of updated controls. The new version includes support for jQuery 1.3, a new extendable CSS framework, and bundled themes. Team member Richard Worth has stated (in regards to this project), "We want to make Rich Internet Applications as easy as jQuery has made Ajax, and that's really starting to happen."

Whitepapers on Silverlight Development
Technologies: SilverlightTim Heuer highlighted the white papers that Microsoft has written on Silverlight development. The current white papers include:

New MLB.TV Player Now in Beta
Technologies: Flash PlayerThe new MLB.tv flash-based media player is starting to show up in the wild. MLB has been using the World Baseball Classic as a testing ground for the new player. Many of you may remember that MLB abandoned their previous Windows-media based solution for a Flash-based player earlier this year. Initially, the new player looks and acts like a amazing application, and the initial beta went off without a hitch.

SpringSource Released Next Milestone of Spring/BlazeDS Integration
Technologies: Flex, BlazeDS, SpringThe Spring/BlazeDS integration reached version 1.0.0.M2 this week. The lead developer, Jeremy Grelle, stated:
The main features of note that have been added in this release are integration with Spring Security, and simplified XML-namespace-based configuration. The namespace support results in significantly simpler Spring configuration files than using the fullsyntax, especially when using the new security features.
This version is available to download today.
