Facebook is an absolute monster with a tremendous audience. Facebook also has public APIs allowing developers to create applications for the Facebook platform, So, we would like to know if you currently develop or if you plan on developing for the Facebook platform in the future.

Although Adobe recently announced a new partnership with Facebook to make it even easier to develop for the Facebook platform while utilizing the Flash Player, this poll question is not strictly about developing Flash Player applications for Facebook.

No interest whatsoever and do not anticipate ever having any interest in developing for Facebook.

Social networking bores me into a stupor. There are such vast quantities of social networking apps out there that I don't notice a single one of them. How much more unimaginative and predictable could the world possibly get?

Reading about the minutae of other people's lives is as dull as it gets. I'm too busy getting on with living my own life.

How does a software developer stand out from the crowd? Don't write SN apps.

Zero interest in developing Facebook apps. As if!!

I likely will learn some facebook development. I've already developed components for facebook, but I was stopped cold by the need for multiple people to have installed it in order for me to publish it. I did get a client asking me to have the automatically transfer their profile from facebook, which is nice to simply the process of having people join your site quickly, buy choosing the facebook option.

I worked on porting a Flex app into Facebook -- but because the Flex API was being developed independently (and was on hiatus at the time) I decided to hook into the Facebook API using javascript and FBML. I found the facebook API not always well documented and at times misleading -- adding a lot more time to the development. I hope to implement the newly now-supported API in the near future.

While it's cool that a Flex/Facebook API exists, I still can't find a justification for limiting the potential users of an app that I can develop. Yes, there are more than 200 million people that have signed up for Facebook, but there are so many more on the internet as a whole. Besides, I still haven't seen the killer Facebook app that wouldn't be a killer app outside of Facebook.

Do you think this effect Actionscript and Firefox Tamarin project?
And what do you think Adobe's reaction? They are gonna take new standard for coming Flash language?
