Well, although Twitter is certainly hugely popular, it appears that developers don't care as much about the Twitter APIs as they did with Facebook.
The Twitter poll had less than half as many responses as Facebook, which means that there were less developers responding that they would be developing for Twitter. Although, by percentages, almost 50% of those responding said that they were or would be developing for Twitter within the next year.

Facebook Application Development
I'm planning to develop a twitter application as well as a facebook application.
I had more look at the facebook apis than i did with the twitter apis because the facebook apis so complicated and time consuming.
the twitter apis are very simple, so i'll def... develop a twitter application soon.
We work in marketing and are trying to get a grasp on using twitter for ecommerce when it comes to apps. Sure we not blast out tweets, but facebook apps seem much more social to us. We are working with a store that sells yoga bags right now and trying to combine it with daily yoga news, classes schedules and general yoga info into an app. for twitter.
