Last week Palm released the Pre, which uses Palm's new webOS platform (based on HTML, CSS & JavaScript). Since webOS is using very familiar languages to many developers, we assume that there would be a high interest in developing for this platform. So we decided to ask, what's your interest in this platform at the moment?

I've not really been a fan of the iPhone due to it's proprietary nature. It's just too locked down for my preference. It has been tempting because it looks like a solid device with some cool features.

Android seemed really promising, but it really hasn't caught on with the speed it should have, which concerns me.

I can't wait to get my hands on a Pre and start developing apps for it. I believe that the Palm Pre is setting the bar in mobile computing. I don't need to go into all the features and functionality that the device offers, that's been done already. But that fact that it allows developers to write apps with languages they are already using means that there's the potential for the same apps to run on other platforms in the near future.

I guess the big kicker question (for me anyways) is does it/will it support Flash Player? Palm did announce that the Blackberry would, but I believe that was over two years ago now, and I still haven't seen it. I'll look up the answer, but if someone knows off hand, please comment back :)

We Flashers, are drooling to get our very creative hands on a true Flash 10 implementation on the Pre. If it happens, we will quickly surpass the iPhone's apps in number, functionality, elegance and usefulness.

Most of the criticisms I've been reading about the Pre have to do with the lack of apps. Give us Flash and a good API into the phone's features and we will make Apple rue the day they dissed the Flash community.

I'll second what Joel said...forget all the talk about Flash Killers....put flash 10 on ANY devise and it will become the App Store Killer (or at least give the app store a good, bloody flesh wound!).
