InsideRIA talks AR at MAX
Everywhere you look, Augmented Reality is a hot topic. With MAX a little over a month away, FLAR will be thoroughly covered in at least 4 different sessions. I was offered an incredible opportunity by InsideRIA to speak at MAX about the work I have done with AR and present my thoughts on the technology alongside James Alliban. If that wasn't cool enough, it looks like we will both be doing additional talks at 360/MAX during the conference which will allow people to get a little more time with us to discuss AR in more detail.
With all this attention on FLAR I wanted to get the communities' thoughts/feedback on what AR means to them and what they would like to see covered. AR is not for everyone and right now it is a very niche audience but that doesn't mean that people should be left out. I have covered how to quickly get FLAR set up on InsdieRIA and it received very good feedback. We also want to make sure that InsdieRIA's involvement with AR doesn't begin and end at the conference. The hope is to make it a feature of the site as the technology evolves and matures. The challenging part is presenting AR in a way that makes the most sense to beginners as well as advanced users.
Here are a few quick points I will be covering in my session:
- Brief intro to Augmented Reality and how FLARToolKit makes AR possible in Flash.
- FLAR limitations.
- Know your audience.
- Building, testing, debugging, and deploying.
- FLAR's future and how Alchemy along with better 3d support from the Flash Player will push the technology to the next level.
Now is your chance to have a say on how InsdieRIA discusses AR moving forward. Operators are standing by so please leave your comments bellow.

Your discussion coverage will be enough to educate other people about your topic. Personally, I find it very interesting. I hope to know more about FLAR.
