I have to say I'm a little disappointed that three of the top five are CMS platforms. They are cool and all but I would think of them as something different than what I would call a RIA. Yes, they do have RIA elements involved but I can't help but think of them as platforms, not RIAs.

And nothing for Silverlight or Javascript? All Flash?

Nothing for mobile? Pre or iPhone?

@Travis,

As far as the top 5 having 3 CMS applications, that is simply how the people voted.

Silverlight and JavaScript applications were not eligible for this poll as the results of this poll is being used as the basis of an Adobe MAX presentation.

I understand that's how the people voted, that's fine, I'm still disappointed in it. Although I admit that I feel a CMS will win in the end, I still just can't think of them as RIA. But that's just me.

As for Silverlight, my fault, I forgot this was for Adobe MAX.

But for Javascript, Adobe does have their Spry library but I have no idea if anyone has used it as a basis for a RIA.

Round two does look a bit more interesting though.

Here is a big Flex app that is nothing to do with CMS. Glasnost combines Contact Management, Project Management and Image Management.

It also includes it's own messaging service called 'Online Now' as well as email newsletter management.

It's built with Flex and a ColdFusion Enterprise backend, and document and image storage is on amazon S3.

We have an overview video on our website, plus a comprehensive 'Tour' section with details of all the modules.

If you could spare 5 minutes to take a look I think you will find it interesting.
