It has been known for quite some time that as part of the open screen project Adobe has been working with chip manufacture ARM on getting the Flash Player onto many devices including mobile and set top boxes.

As this work is being done at the chip level, new hardware will be required to reap the benefits of this partnership. So, as we approach the first wide penetration of these new devises, my question is how soon would you invest in a new phone so that you could finally have the Flash Player on a mobile devise?

If it was an iPhone I would already be inline. Otherwise I'm waiting. Many of my clients are iPhone users, mandated by management, and we need to create for the iPhone.

I value my iPhone more than flash on a phone right now. If they get flash on the iPhone, I'd get a new one right away. If it's on some other phone, there would have to be some seriously compelling reasons to make me give up my apps now.

I don't have a cellphone anymore - gave my iPhone to my wife. I'm not going to get a cellphone until there is something good out there supporting the latest Flash mobile. I would be ecstatic if there were a phone out there that supported AIR.

if it were on the iphone we (me and the rest at the office) would upgrade immediately. However not a reason to get an other phone.

It doesn't have to be on iPhone, but the phone's hardware has to be able to compete with the iPhone's.

And AIR on a phone would be a lot more motivating than just Flash Player.

I'm on Android and they're supposed to be releasing Flash for Android at MAX. However, if it is anything like Flash Player on the desktop I will be avoiding it as it will kill my battery. I hope they have made massive improvements to the player, or else it's just going to die on mobile.

Would take a lot to pry the iPhone from me, to be honest.... Now if you're talking about putting Flash on the iPhone, I'd be all the more happy.

Considering Apple's cold reception to the idea in the past, I'm not holding my breath.

Just bought...HTC Hero is the phone...

Looking to buy the HTC Hero (Oct 11), but might wait if there was an "AIR" phone coming. I suspect there will be big news at MAX with regard to the mobile market.

I just shared a limo to the U2 concert in Toronto with one of the top execs at RIM and he let me play with a phone that played flash and had 720p video with a screen that wasn't very big but had the highest resolution that I've ever scene. It was streaming flash video in 720p as well for the clip he showed me. pretty amazing!

Hello I would buy a phone straightaway if it was possible to get flash, however only if I was convinced that it works, therefore I would wait to see if the first generation is good
