I went and did a little digging around and found that the stats below are about the average of what I was seeing. This particular sample was snagged from http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_os.asp.

However, I have a feeling that our audience will have a pretty drastic difference from these numbers which are based on generic web visitors.
So, this week's poll is simple, which operating system do you currently use as your main computer's operating system? Please click here to vote.

I'm using WinXP since then. Not for any instance that I've used non window OS. Maybe, it's the most popular OS within our place.

I think that the stats from W3Schools are going to be a little biased towards what the tech crowd likes. The averages for Windows might be close but for everything else they'll be off.
For instance, on our retail site we get 3 times more visitors from the iPhone than from Linux. W3Schools has Linux at 4% while our site got less than half a percent over the last 30 days.
Not to say there aren't some importance in stats like this from several servers. I would love to see the stats for walmart.com for instance.
Does Palm WebOS count as Linux?

With so many Windows versions, how about some love to the various versions of Mac: Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard...? Considering that Mac is currently leading the pack with more than double the highest Windows option, it would have been more interesting to see the breakdown.
"Main computer"? I have a PC at work. I run Linux and sit at it for the better part of eight hours a day. Most of the time, I have several terminals connecting to a big Solaris server, which runs my code. During this time, I am also streaming media from my home Linux machine, which I actually sit behind about once every other month. And when I'm sitting on the couch at home or in bed, or when I need to test against IE at work, I bring up my XP netbook. I find it hard to judge which is my "main" computer.
"Win XP" - does this mean Win XP Pro or Win XP Personal Edition ?
They have a completely different user base.
