As I am sure many of you have heard ECMAScript 4.0 has officially been killed in favor of ECMAScript 3.1 (Harmony). Since Adobe has based much of ActionScript 3 on the now defunct ES4 proposal, we would like to see...

Day 1 of 360Flex has come and gone. Here are some of the highlights from the sessions I was able to attend.

As of yesterday, 360Flex is on! Yesterday was a preliminary day of training classes and "how-to" sessions. Conference organizer John Wilker told me this year's preliminary day was the widest attended ever, with over 200 of the 400 attendees coming in early to learn a little Flex. The Flex 101 class was completely full, and Ben Stucki's intro to Open Flux was standing-room only. Today the conference swings into full speed with all of the regular speaking sessions. I'll be posting regular updates on the sessions I attend, so check back regularly if you're interested. We've got good weather so far out here in San Jose and it promises to be an exciting few days.

Adobe is putting together a video project to be used in the MAX keynotes. It's pretty simple, just create a video on "Why MAX", upload it to youtube.com, and tag it with "30onMAX".

Adobe, EffectiveUI and Scalenine are teaming up to sponsor the "Skin to Win" challenge. Designers and Developers are challenged to create their best themes for Adobe Flex with tickets to Adobe MAX, a Macbook AIR, Adobe software and "other great prizes" on the line. Whether you're an experienced designer or someone looking to break into the industry, this conference is for you.

The second annual iPhoneDevCamp has just started here at the Adobe offices in San Franciso. There's about 300 people and I think most of them are planning to build an app or at least hack a little bit. The even runs from Friday night until Sunday night. The highlight of the even is certainly going to be the Hackathon where developers and designers will be splitting off into teams and trying to build an iPhone by Sunday afternoon for the grand demo. This year's event has 60 sponsors as well!

Poll Closes Today
Just a friendly reminder that the poll we are conducting on the article named "The Charges Against ActionScript 3.0" by Colin Moock will be closing today. So, if you haven't voted yet, please do so here.
